Shannon M. Planty, 14, of Dickinson Center was welcomed in to God’s family of angels on Thursday (July 19, 2012). Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Shannon was born April 5, 1998 in Malone, the daughter of Greg Planty & Nannette Gervais. Shannon was a student at Brushton-Moira Central School where she was entering the ninth grade.
Shannon loved hanging out with her family friends, especially Caitlyn Dana. Whether you were going fishing or shopping, she was always game and ready to go.
She is survived her mother Nannette Gervais and Francis Brother of Dickinson Center, her father Greg and Sherry Planty of Brushton, paternal grandparents Jack & Marlene Planty of Parishville, NY, maternal grandmother Bonnie LaValley of Moira,a brother Jonathan Planty, a sister Melissa Rae Planty all at home. Also surviving Shannon is her stepbrother Christian Sabin at home, as well as several aunts uncles and cousins.
Shannon was a member of the Honor Society, avid soccer, and basketball and softball player.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Flint Funeral Home. Shannon’s Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11 a.m at St. Mary’s Church, with the Rev. Christopher Looby presiding. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Shannon’s honor can be made to the Malone Animal Shelter.

I am so sorry for your loss. Shannon and I played softball together in 2011. She was an amazing girl. She always made me smile with her beautiful smile. Shannon had an amazing, outgoing, and a kind personality.
